I put a fraud alert on my credit a year or so do to fraudulent charges appearing on my reports. I have "cleaned up" the problem and was wondering if the fraud alert will remain on my report, and if so can and should I remove it?

I put a fraud alert on my credit a year or so do to fraudulent charges appearing on my reports. I have "cleaned up" the problem and was wondering if the fraud alert will remain on my report, and if so can and should I remove it?

If so, how do I go about doing that?

It only protects you by leaving it on. Credit reporting agencies are making it harder for you to even put it on now, as they require police reports and affidavids before putting a 1 year alert on your records.

Leave it in place.

Yes you can remove a fraud alert.

Whether you should or not depends on how comfortable you are in doing that.
