No, I do not believe that the Holy Roman Catholic Church is being manipulated by the Antichrist. Now, having said that, I do believe that one day it could be, just like any other Christian denomination. I think that the buzz surrounding the Catholic Church and the antichrist comes from members or leaders of other religions that feel threatend by the Catholic Church. I mean really, look around--there are over one billion Catholics in the world. There is no other religion in the world that has the following like the Catholic Church.
The Catholic Church is demonized in the liberal media because it is a big target. If a pastor of another Christian faith that has a following of one million people falls from grace, it is not news because they are too small. However, if a Priest falls from grace it is huge because of the influence the Church has. Statistically, the Catholic Church will have more problems due to its size.
The Catholic Church is the oldest Christian faith from which all other religious denominations splintered from in one form or another. I respect their faith, as I do all Christian denominations, but I believe the antichrist could come from any of the various organized religions. I just hope that man is ready.

A lot of people have summed this up well for you, so I am really only kinda repeating, the antichrist(s) are attempting to manipulate everyone. The catholic church is not the forefront, nor are they safe from it. In the bible an antichrist is any person or spirit that is against the gospel of christ and who preaches any other gospel than what Jesus gave us. For the most part the Catholic faith tries to do this the best they can, just like any other Christian movement that is actually Christian. The Catholic church has been demonized by many protestants ever since the Protestant Reformation and fundamentalists have jumped on the bandwagon and created all sorts of fantasies on how the Ultimate incarnate of Satan will be a pope, because Catholicism is so demonic already. Please, stop the nonsense. I am not trying to criticise any fellow answerer in this topic, but citing fictional works based on theoretical endtime event is... sad. And unfortunately many evangelicals and protestants and catholics alike are beginning to adapt theology from fictional works and it really is starting to destroy reality. A pope someday may be the Antichrist embodied, but I see no reason, especially no biblical reason why anyone should expect it to be. One of the biggest warnings the bible gives is that the antichrist and his teaching will be so charismatic and likeable that even the elect (true Christ-followers of any kind) will come extremely close to being fooled by the antichrist and his teachings. I believe it is worded that "even the elect would be fooled by the antichrist, if this were possible". I can't see how that passage would suggest that we are 1) going to know where the antichrist is going to rise or 2) that anyone, Christian or not, would be able to identify him immediately. Hope this helps!

In the end of days, the Antichrist will help to appoint the False Prophet to the Papacy. He will run the pope from behind the scenes, bringing the faith to it's knees. If you believe we are in the end of days, then yes, the catholic church is manipulated by the antichrist.

As a Catholic I'm sure you've heard many things that aren't true. But that's alright.
I highly doubt there's any religion that is manipulated by the Anti-Christ, except maybe.. Devil worship, etc. The Catholic Church isn't a spotless institution, but I'm pretty sure there's no Anti-Christ there.

If that's what you'd like to call it. One thing's for sure, the Catholic Church is manipulated by some evil force. Perhaps "antichrists" plural is more fitting.

If one believes that the "anti-christ" is indeed a personna, then I would say more than the catholic church is being manipulated by him. However, I personally think the concept of the anti-christ is a metaphor for evil. Evil has infiltrated everything from priests who molest children to nations that kill each other in "ethnic cleansing" exercises. Evil has infiltrated our very own government here in the USA. Evil has infiltrated religions, governments, even the weather. The opposite of "evil" is good. Its easier to do good than to do evil. Therefore those who choose the path to evil deeds did exactly that...made a choice. I, personally choose the safer path...the right path.

If you were the antiChrist, would you want to put up with the Catholics??? Or religion in general? NO, too complicated.
If the antiChrist turns up anywhere, it will be in mass marketing media.
