When I was 17 I was out with a friend and we happened to be near an off-license (booze shop) so she used water (it had been raining) to stick my hair up in a spikey style, I walked in and picked up a small/single bottle of Smirnoff Ice. Got served.

This was (and I do) live in the UK so the age is 18 and not 21.

Then again, a single bottle of the stuff isn't exactly going to get me drunk is it.

Some pubs here in the UK have a strict rule that you have to be over 21 to go in there and I've been in pubs like this, got served and stuff. I'm over 18 but under 21.

Mind you being 6ft 4in tall can help ;)

:-)

Summer of '68, just a few months shy of 16, my 18-year old buddy and I were served a couple of pitchers, no questions asked, in a nightclub where we went to see a great local rock band play.
Of course, back then beer & wine could be served at 18, here in DC. ( I don't believe they changed it until the eighties or early nineties.) Ironically enough, the voting age was still 21!
In any case, I never really drank again until I was about 19 but I was still carded at age 28. Even now, in my fifties, I easily pass for late thirties!

Yes we are allowed to drink when we are 18 here. But I was able to buy it when I was 16, also my friend could go into a nightclub when he was only 17.

yes, actually, there are provinces where it is legal to consume alcohol at 18...Alberta and Manitoba are 2 for sure. Saskatchewan, the drinking age is 19.

Yes - many times. I looked a lot older than I was at the time.

Nope.
I look too youthful to seem 21.
