I must disclose that I have been in the cruise business for 24 years, been on over 100 cruises and am affraid I've lost my objectivity - i.e. my Carnival Rep. hasn't returned my voice message for 2 days, therefore I hate Carnival this minute, but will probably love them again when he calls. Sooo...I'm interested i what you guys have to say.

If you go to the cruise line web sites like Royal Caribbean, Princess, Celebrity and Norwegian you will find that they all now have programs for kids and teens. So I suggest go on a good line like Royal Caribbean or Princess. Besides that, do a caribbean cruise rather than Alaska or the Mediterranian so that there will be plenty of land tours that the teens will probably like, like riding jet skiis, snorkeling, submarine rides, parasailing, etc. The new RC ships have the rock climbing walls and the newest one has a wave/surfing pool on it.
I don't think teens will be turned on by Disney Characters and they are too young for the party ing and drinking on CArnival.
I haven't been on a 100 cruises but have been on about a dozen.

I feel Disney is the most enjoyable for families.
But, it can be a little expensive for some people. It just depends how much you are willing to spend and what you are wanting onboard.
The best lines for families is Disney, Royal Caribbean and Carnival. All are great, but if your kids aren't really into Disney characters and things, then you might consider Royal Caribbean or Carnival. Of the two, I prefer Royal Caribbean. The costs are about the same, but I feel it is a nicer cruise line than Carnival.

In all actuality, I personally think Royal Caribbean is the best for teens since their ships seem to take teens into consideration when designing the newest ships. The teen lounges and discos and even the "malt shop" Johnny Rockets are teen friendly and a place of their own to hang out away from the prying eyes of the adult populace (while at the same time giving parents peace of minds that their kids are safe).

We cruise RCCL every year. There's always a large group of us including teenagers. They always have a great time! When you get with the larger class ships, there are so many more people for them to meet, places for them to be, and things to do. Not to mention, they're right at home in "the mall."

I hope it's Disney! I just booked a cruise for my family. I had put it off for a while but they were having a good deal for Florida residents so I just had to try it.
