I am an athiest, but I don't live everything by my own standards. Religion is not the only idea that influence us, our surrounding and people around us have the greatest impact on how we act and think. We don't need to believe in god in order to do good. We have a mind, we can think, god can't control us. God is only a concept, an idea that tell us to do good things and treat people better. Religions have gone too an extreme, telling lies. We are human, it is not surprising that we lie. We can still survive in this world without the idea of God. The living things before us has thrive for millions of years, I don't think they have any idea about God. Our standards are set by our ancestors who spend many years if not generations to come up with some standards that benefits the most. They have many test and failures, but ultimately they find the right one. If you are religious, I will not try to convince you, because it is what you believe in.

OMG Ok why do you people insist on fighting about insignificant things like what you belive in. You will never change someones mind. They will believe what they believe and you will believe what you believe. As for god. I don't know if there is or isn't Logically I guess there isn't. But why would you fight over things like this with people. Why can't you people talk about important things like world hunger or aids. 40 million people died in Africa oh well I believe in jesus so they will be saved. I mean really. Come on stop waisting your life and wake up. Figure it out how many times do you stop to think is there a god or not. Think of the hours wasted. Or how many hours do you waste in a building every sunday listening to a guy who gets paid for talking about a book. Life is too short to wonder and worry.

My standards of right and wrong have been partially influenced by my term as a religious person. That still does not validate any truth in the Christian, Islam, Buddists, Jewish, or any other faith's teachings. By the way atheists do not claim to be any type of god. That is a word strictly used by theists to describe their imaginary friend.

Morality can come from generally accepted norms in society. Just like owning slaves in the 1800s in parts of America was considered moral, and now it is immoral, those were not from God or religion, but community standards.

God
1. A being conceived as the perfect, omnipotent, omniscient originator and ruler of the universe, the principal object of faith and worship in monotheistic religions.
No, I don't have any gods. You want to stop trying to tell me what I believe, now, you arrogant little ****? I don't think you'd like it if I started telling you what you believe, because I have a few nasties saved up for just such an occasion.

Wrong, atheists do exist. You lost me when you said god can be money or cars. You don't seem to know the definition of "god". I don't know what the rest of your argument has to do with anything. Just because someone is moral doesn't mean they believe in god.

NO! They can't. They have to refute the existence of God in order to create a standard. Why do they argue for many years over the existence of someone that does not exist? I am glad and feel good that I know God and I go to Him through His only son Jesus-Christ.

Just because I do not believe does not mean I am wrong or that I live life in sin. I live life with more integrity and ethics than most of the Christians I've met,and they have guidelines. It does not take a bible to tell you what's right and wrong. Good parenting is a start.

First of all, you need to learn how to formulate a proper and clear argument.
However, your understanding is flawed. Atheists claim there is no god. That is, there is no supreme power that created everything.
As for good/evil and morality, that's what philosophie is all about.
