My friend told me about this movie, were some friends who I think went to a univeristy decided to find out what happens in the afterlife, so they got some medical equpment, and stopped their heart and breathing for 1-8 minutes, and found out, then they got out the def paddles and got shocked back to life.

I realize that it would be pretty stupid to not breath and stop your heart for up to 8 minutes, but did any studies like this actually happen in real life? And does anyone know the name of that movie?

I don't think any experiments have been done like that but here's an article where they are discussing Near Death Experiences and if experimenting with flatlining would actually prove anything.

Thats a movie I haven't thought about for awhile. Yes it is Flatliners. It had Julia Roberts and Kether Sutherland in it if I remember correctly. Remember it is just a movie, ie someone's fantasy, not real life. Here I found a web site on it.

Flatliners? It's been a long time since I've seen it, but I think that's what you are talking about. As far as people actually doing it, I don't know.

Flatliners

I don't believe a study has been done, but if it's gonna happen, then I would want to go first.
