in the street? I mean like really overweight. I must admit that I do take a peek and wonder how they manage and if they are really happy. (Im trying to word this correctly, as I have no intentions of insulting anyone!)

i used to be slim until i got ill. i have to take medication and it has made me put on alot of weight. not all overweight people are like that cos they eat too much etc. alot of them have medical conditions. when i see them, i always feel for them and hope they are happy and loved, cos that is all we really want. i am very overweight now but im ok with it. i asked my daughter how she felt about me and she turned around and said, i prefer u this way! it can be an awful struggle for an overweight person to lose weight, just the same as its very difficult for skinny people to put on weight. we are the way we are. i never thought id end up being the size i am but i accept it. i am still me, there is just more of me to love!

Nothing. There just like skinny people except for the fact that they have extra baggage or body fat. People make fun of them like I would kill myself if I got that fat,but why? You can still live your life you just are bigger than others. Just think when you go to make fun of "overweight people" you make it worse. For some it's their way of life, some they can't loose the weight no matter how hard they try so you make it a whole lot worse when you make fun of them. They know that they are overweight. Some are happy that they are the way they are. Plus the next time someone sees you in the street would it bother you if they would look at you I mean use some common sense. It's coming from the heart and the brain.

I wonder how they can let their body get that way, and it makes me feel better about my own body, and helps me see why I do diet and try to take care of my body. Because I could end up like that. I wonder why they're letting it get like that and why they don't just get off the couch and eat less. But in some cases they could have a thyroid problem... not often though. Most people in my family are very fat, and it disgusts me. They'll eat and eat, and when they're done say oh, I'm so stuffed, and it's like, of course you are, you just ate a 10 course meal. And sometimes they'll grab things off my plate and say "you weren't gonna eat it anyway" and they complain about being fat, no wonder you're fat. It's annoying.

I don't really think anything! I look at people for who they are, not what they look like! I successfully lost almost 5 st not because I worried about what people thought about me in the street, but because I felt unhealthy. I then got the opportunity to be a Slimming Consultant myself and if people come to me I help them, but losing weight doesn't make them a different person, just healthier and usually happier.

I am drawn between two feelings: On one hand I feel sorry for such a person. But on the other hand I also feel disgusted.
We all are the masters of our own lives, and everyone can keep healthy and in good shape. All that is needed is the will to do it.
Those who don't throw their life and health away and only get in the end what they deserve.

Personally, I don't think anything different about a person who is over wight than I do a person who is slender. I wonder where they live, who they love, if anyone loves them back, where they've traveled to, the people they've met, their religion, their favorite color, ect. I am too interested in them as a person wit thoughts and emotions thanto actually look at their body type and decide who they are based solely on that.

I'm not saying this to hurt any feelings either, but I wonder.........How did they get to be that size?......Do they have health problems? Sometimes people can't help the condition they are in with their health, other times people could eat healthier and get exercise and that would not hurt anything, but ALL of us no matter what size we are could improve on our body conditions. I feel like I am #25 overweight at present, but all stats show I'm in normal range for my age and height.

is this from a female, wow What does it matter to us if someone is over weight? As long as they are not causing me any trouble I leave them alone. If however they looked like a woman I saw on holiday who was wearing a very short dress just below the cheeks of her bottom, she must have weighed about 22st It was almost enough to make me sick. ( it was in the USA.)

Depends a bit on how much overweight they have.
When I see a higly overweigted person I often think 'that can't be healthy'
