I felt very welcome from each and everyone. I almost quit playing around with answers, because of all the negativaty going around between the US and UK..people...whose the best, whose this and whose that. I don't like it. People are people everywhere and we together are not much different. I was getting uncomfortable in my own skin being away from home. But I am sensitive, too much sometimes for my own good.
Thank you everyone for all the welcoming answers. I invite you all to the states....we'll have a few beers, do a BBQ and have some laughs....LOL

I don't think theres much difference after all we have an obesity problem in the U.K now, gun crime is growing, to get an operation quick you need private medical insurance, theres McD's and B.K's everywhere, we have WalMart and the majority of our television is now American shows add to that the fact that Bush runs this country with Blair as his puppet and you have a mini America

I would say what I heard in a movie called Yakuza with Toshiro Mifune and Robert Mitchum... They are standing by a character in the ground that says "The way" and Mitchum's character wants to know if he is obligated (yakuzas if the fail cut off their finger as atonement). Mifune's character with a strong Japanese accent says, "If you have to ask then, yes, you are."
That might be a little too simplistic. But I love that scene. I am going to say yes then; you can figure this out yourself.

Hmm, Pilgrim Fathers in reverse.
You are an asylum seeker if you have a genuine fear of persecution by George W Bush.

seems anyone is welcome to seek asylum here these days. As long as you speak English English - no more sidewalks, trunks and vacations! - accept our laws and religions, don't scream 'racism!' at everything we say, don't jump off the boat and into the first benefit office you see and don't mention the Shrub and his lapdog, you're welcome to stay, lol. (Pity approx 99.9% of real asylum seekers won't see your q and my a as rather tongue in cheek )

Are you unable or unwilling to return to your country of nationality? Before you seek asylum, you need to establish your status as a refugee. . . .
I know about sensitivity. . . . I used to work as a massage therapist.
