HELLO!
I have been drinking for years. I'm 33 now and I DO NOT drink the 1st 3 days of my period. I am taking Motrin and you should never mix ibuprofen with or without NSAID with alcohol. It can cause your stomach to bleed!!
Some women do not drink when they are having their periods! I never had and every women I know don't because they make remarks like I can't wait until after my period I want a beer....I've heard it for years!
I have heard of women back in the old days before midol taking whiskey to relieve cramps but mixing it no......
It's normal I have heard it many times.
I know if I drink and start the next day I have worst cramps and bleed heavier. She probably doesn't won't to be out and drinking and start bleeding real heavy! It's good means she's CLEAN!

Okay, that is possibly the biggest piece of nonsence I have ever heard. Beer or wine won't affect your period - it won't mean more cramps or it being heavier. It is better for you to drink a lot of water rather than anything else the week leading up to your cycle and the week of but other stuff won't affect it.

The only thing that I can think of is that maybe they don't want to retain anymore water than they already are just by being on their period. Some women get mean during such time and if alcohol makes them mean too....that could be...well lets just say............
NOT GOOD! If she doesn't want to drink, she will be a great designated driver! At least something good comes out of it!

Actually it's the opposite. A glass of wine or a beer can help relax uterine contractions and therefore ease cramps.

It's just an excuse to get out of drinking around guys they are either 1. attracted to and don't want to look like a fool or 2. aren't attracted to and don't want to end up hooking up with.
The period = excuse for anything

It's true that things like alcohol and asprin are blood thinners and could make her bleed heavier, but it seems to me that the alcohol would numb the cramps, so the trade off would be worth it!

I've never heard of that before. Why if you're in a crap mood deny yourself a nice drink, that's double punishment!! I reckon I drink even more during that time.

never heard of this. i always drink wine, as it acts like a "booster" to the ibuprofen and helps me feel better.
