If you are old fashioned, then I applaud you. I think you are charming. Just a few days ago we were dining out, and a
woman in the booth behind me was not talking into her cell
phone, but shouting. I guess she wanted everyone to know
she had a cell phone? I think anything but an emergency can
wait till you go out side of a restaurant or any other public place.

You are not nessciarily old fashioned; in this case you are just aware of proper dinning etiquet. It is rude to talk on the phone while you are dinning in a restaurant.
There is nothing wrong with being "old fashioned." It is something I feel should be displayed more often in society. Young adults and teens might have a far more respectful of each other and everything else. You are not alone in the world of the old fashioned beliefs. My husband and I are right there with you.

I hate people with cellphones on meals, cinemas, and also hate people who prefer to talk on the phone than in person.
I hate too, when I'm talking to them in person and someone answer his/her calls and leave me alone just to answer their stupid cellphone. They are in need of a big dose of manners!!
People is very rude nowadays. They think they have the right to annoy others in public, and they are such wrong.
This kind of behavior is most common on teenagers. But I've seen people over 50 behaving that way!!
If having manners is being old fashioned, then, I'm old fashioned too, regardless if I'm 26 now.

If a call needs to be taken at a restaurant the person should answer, ask the person to hold, and excuse themselves from the dining area if its going to be any length of time.

people think old fashioned means its out of date.
the words old fashioned and manners are interchangeable.
manners never go out of style. we aren't forbidding them to talk on a cell phone just teaching that there is a time an a place for everything.

Cell phones are so rude. I refuse to have one and it stinks because it is getting difficult to find payphones. How about when you are with someone and they take a call and start a conversation with someone on the phone, leaving you hanging, R-U-D-E.

I agree. I also hate when people are talking incredibly loud in public on their cell phone. It's like their the only people in the world.

i also find it very rude and ignorant to be blabbering about your problems or issues in public and there is no way my child will have a cell phone around my dinner table, i even turn off the house phone at dinner time.
