Advantage is a product that is meant as flea prevention. If you start out with fleas, then it takes the product a little bit longer to work, and you can have a reoccurrence of fleas in about two weeks time. Advantage is very safe and it is actually recommended to use every two weeks while you are having a bad infestation. Once the infestation calms down, you can go back to using the product every month. The same is also true for Frontline.

It means you have fleas in your house. Until you get rid of all the fleas and flea eggs you will have this problem. You can reapply the Advantage as early as 2 weeks after application. Then you need to vacuum your house, under furniture etc. and throw the bag or empty the canister outside. Continue on a regular basis. Remember you can also bring fleas in on your clothing etc.

Either they are still in your home OR the product your are using is not killing the fleas. Try putting some borax on your carpet (its cheap and can be found out Wal-mart) and letting it sit for 48 hours- that should help inside the house, and switch to a different brand of flea treatment. OH- and empty out your vacuum after you vacuum up the carpet. Fleas can live in there for up to 3 months and get out- then you will never get ride of them.

yes and it does - maybe you need to treat all areas your cat goes to - and around your yard or front door - bedding - maybe even a flea bomb in the house just to be sure. Malawash is good to use around the outside but ask your vet. When the whole area in and out is done wash your cat in flea rinse then a few days later apply advantage again and see how you go

Advantage only prevents small amounts of fleas, if your house is infested by them then the advantage wont last long. If you see any little black dots laying in cracks or nooks anywhere in your house, then you are infested and need to buy some bug bombs.

I prefer Frontline Plus for that reason. The Advangate doesn't last as long on dogs either. Frontline lasts the whole month, sometimes 6 weeks depending on the conditions.

I would go to your vet and have them show you exactly how to put it on. It sounds like you might not be applying it correctly. If you are then you may need to spray for fleas wherever the cat is (inside or outside).

When you apply the Advabtage are you only putting it at the base of your cats head? You should infact squeeze small amounts in several spots from the base of the cats head to the tail a few inchs apart.

Stop using Advantage and use Frontline. It's the best. Advantage is supposed to kill fleas but that's it. Frontline kills fleas, ticks and lice, yuck. I use it on all my critters.
