I've been looking for a really good one and I was just wondering if anyone knew if any were actually better than the other.

Dove

Pantene strips your hair, and then the conditioners fill in the cracked parts with wax, making it look healthy, but in reality its causing damage.

I heard Oprah Winfrey say that she alternates between 2 or 3 different shampoos and conditions each week. This made sense to me, and I do it. If I use one, then it tends to build up. But if I alternate with another, it works better. I use a cheaper brand, but then buy a really nice one.

The AFTER shampoo product I use that is GREAT -- really works and detangles -- I have thick, long, flowing red naturally curly hair -- is: Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum from Supercuts. One little dallop, about the size of a dime -- I'm NOT kidding -- works GREAT to detangle and defrizz and keeps my hair very healthy looking! Pricey at $15.95 but lasts a long time and is GREAT!!

It would be easier for you to specify what type of hair you have and what the problem is. My hair personally is dry and I color it. I've tried many shampoos. The one that has worked best for me is Infusium 23 for Dry damaged hair.

Try asking your hairstylist or maybe you can search yourself by trial and error. Try a shampoo and conditioner for a while and see which one works best for you. It doesn't have to cost a whole lot for it to be effective. As a matter of fact, I have heard that inexpensive shampoos can work better or just as good as the expensive ones. I heard this from Dateline or Consumer Reports a while back.

It honestly depends on your hair type. My hair is quite oily.

I use herbal essence for oily hair and it works like a charm.
Garnier Fructis makes my hair worse.
Dove makes it feel so soft but it gets oily by the end of the day.

I like all products made by "Roma" which some salons sell. Just make sure what you pick out matches your hair type.
