Is Michael, from Rev 12, also the commander of the LORD's army in Joshua 5, I would think so but I'm not sure?
Is Michael mentioned in some of the apocypha books? I'm asking because Jude mentions a dispute between him and Satan that isn't in the OT.
Is the term Michael always a proper name, or is it sometimes just a word like satan sometimes is just a word in the bible meaning adversary/enemy?
Any answers are appreciated, even if they're just strong opinions.

There is only one Angel Michael and so the answer to the first question is yes.
I just did a word-search in the Apocrypha and the Archangel Michael is not listed. I'm not Catholic but I have the Apocrypha in my Bible search program so I was able to get you that much information. The answer to the second question is no. Jude mentions that dispute because, as the Bible says in 2 Timothy 3:16, all scripture is inspired by God.
Michael is always a proper name, if God were talking about the Archangel Gabriel (the Messenger) then He would have said Gabriel. Michael isn't a word that is used interchangeably with "angel". The answer to your third question, therefore, is no.

It was 2553 after Adam and 1513 before Christ when Jude 9; happened. This suggest that Michael was escorting the 12 tribes through the wilderness and to get settled in the Promised Land.
Also When the Promised Land was made desolate by Babylon 3460 after Adam anf 606 before Christ, when the 70 years had ended 2Chr.36:20-23; Jer.25:12; in the third year 3533 after Adam and 533 before Christ Dan.10:13,21; Michael was helping Daniel and he may have been the one in the furnace with hid three friends, and also in the lions den with Daniel. At the end times Michael deals with Satan as Dan.12:1-13; and Rev,12:7-12; go hand and ahnd in the prophecy of the end times.
Angels saw earth as a focus for habitation, and Jesus was with God before the world was Job.38:4-7; John 17:3,5,24; angels do not die Luke 20:34-36; so we are talking about a great deal of time with angels, Michael, Satan and Jesus, Jesus as the first of all creations.

Michael the Archangel was Adam's name before being born.....he was Adam of Adam and Eve. As Michael he fought against the dragon (Satan) in the War of Heaven when Christ and Satan fought as to which plan would be used here on earth. If Satan had won, we'd be forced to do the right thing, (all souls would return to God) and Satan would get all the glory. With Christ's plan we'd all have free agency (meaning some souls would be lost) but the Glory would not be Christ's..it would be God's glory. With God's supervision, he helped Christ form the earth as Christ was the "God" mentioned in the Old Testament. God was testing Christ to see how Christ would do prior to being sent down to Earth. Christ took control of the reigns in God's name and taught the Law of Moses, gave the 10 Commandments and then upon coming to earth said that the law of Moses had been fulfilled.

There is only one Archangel Michael. And he is not in any way related to satan. It is a proper name.
the word satan has a meaning of adversary. But is is the name given to Lucifer after the fall. It is his name now.
The apocrypha are very questionable works at best... theyshould just be ignored. I attempted to read from tham and found them very shallow and empty... the Holy Spirit dose not lead in that study.

Michael the Archangel is God's top 'military' leader against Satan and heads all legions. He has battled Satan at God's command. He is also the one who will be with God at the final judegment to cast those to hell, who are not worthy of Heaven. Michael is always a proper name. One of God's very top Archangels, although I am not certain if he is considered the top one.

Michael is referred to in many different names. Michael (Hebrew ×××××: Micha'el or MîkhÄ’Äl; Persian: Mikal, Greek ÎιÏαήλ; Latin Michael or MÃchaël)
Whatever the name he was first mentioned as the Perisan (Iranian) Angels advocate.
