I prefer London because I know they will understand English when I go there. Yeah I know it's a dumb reason....
It is nice there however....

See both. Paris is the more poetic but nothing beats London, 150 years ago, or less, the biggest city in the world. It is magnificent. Royal, imposing, pompous, quaint, filled with Towers, stone, grand cathedrals, great bridges, parks, dogs, museums, theaters...it has it all. See the streets where Sherlock Holmes or Oliver Twist might have walked-or run-down. The history is rich...and no language barrier. Paris is exquisitely beautiful, perhaps the most beautiful. See everything!!!!! And when you get older, see it all again...and again...

I'd prefer Paris!
I had been in London for 3 times. In my opinion, there's more to see in Paris. There's the Eifel Tower, the Louvre and so many other museums and signs.

That depends..do you speak French? If so, you;ll have a great time in Paris. Most Parisians speak English..but if you meet a hot guy you may have a language barrier. See the Louvre while there. London is great, you'll "understand" everyone to an extent and they've got great night clubs. If you have the time see them both.

Speaking as an Englishman (who has a French grandmother), London is rubbish, but at least it's not full of French people (My grandmother is enough to put ANYONE off the French!)

They are only a short train ride away from each other. It's not like the English Channel is an impossible barrier. See both.

If I had to choose which one to see first, I'd pick London. But I've nver been to either. You should see everything, especially the castles and the thames river.
