I think people tend to think cheerleaders are stuck up and too good to hang around anybody but other cheerleaders. I'm not saying this is correct, because I personally didn't think the cheerleaders at my school were stuck up, but I think some people have the perception that cheerleaders think they are better than everybody else.

I am a cheerleader and I have been since I was in 2nd grade.
They hate us because they can't be us.
And some cheerleaders create bad reputations and so most people make them out to be snobby, rich, mean, stuck-up, etc. But if most people got to know us cheerleaders then they would think totally different.
Have fun cheering!

I don't think that people hate cheerleaders..they may just be jealous or not confident about themselves..they can be a little annoying but most of my friends are cheerleaders and i love them!

In general, I'm pretty sure you will find that most males like to look at cheerleaders. But when I was in school, cheerleaders tended to socialize with each other & with the male athletes, forming a "popular clique". Those who don't fit into this clique probably feel envy.
To overcome this, just be kind to everyone.

In general.....cheerleaders are considered to be the cream of the crop....best looking....attractive to all the boys....ect.
You are not selected for your scholastic ability but for how you look in your outfit. Of course you have to be able to do the cheers and lead the spectators to cheer on the team so that generally means you are fit.
And to complicate it for you there are some girls that think the are the best and deserve to be admired. So they seem to be stuck up.
Regardless of how good you are in other areas this is the perception that does not set well with other girls. Unless they get to know you.
Oh....Yes....Calling yourself "Hottie" tends to promote that. If you think you are then my guess you fall in that class that think they are the best.
Advice.....do not pay attention to what the guys say about you. If you have a short skirt they will love you. But trust me you do not want to become their fantasy.

I truly think it is a dep down jealousy issue...when I was in high school I hated the cheer leaders I had a million valid reasons (they are ditzy, they are slutty etc..) now that I am older and looking back I realized that had I been given the oppurtunity I wouldve been a cheerleader too!

It's because we're stereotyped by the media as evil, stuck up, snobby, rich, spoiled and most people assume we are what the media portrays us as so they don't give us a chance. But some cheerleaders are the way media put us up to be, why they do that I don't know it just gives the rest of us bad reps.

it's not necessarily the people doing it. it's just the sport. I think it's lame. but cheerleaders are put under a stereotype that they're snobby and gossipy but that's not true. i don't like cheerleading but cheerleaders r ok.
