I wanna be an Aircraft Mechanic in the future for my career. Will this position help me get a good start and help me out a lot?

If u don't think so, what other job in the Navy do u recommend but that has to do with working with Aircraft?

all branches of the military have aircraft. after boot camp, you would be sent to a base to train in your field. once you complete the training, you'll be assigned to either a base or carrier. you can train to work on fighters, the meanest gunships ( copters) and if you stayed in you could retire under forty after 20 years on a large military pension. the re-enlistment bonuses are as much as 35 grand alone in addition to your regular pay. if you have seen the army commercial on t.v., the guy gets a job at a heloport and they ask him if he had ever seen anything like the copter they had go so fast. they show him thinking back to working on the apache gunships and blackhawks. with any branch you can get the training and go to their school to get certified so if you decide to get out after your term is up. you have the certified training.

I would suggest either AT (Aviation Electronics Tech) or AMS (Aviation Structural Mechanic). Either one of these ratings will give you excellent job experience, which is easily transferred to the civilian job market. As an (AO) Aviation Ordnanceman, you will gain much less technical experience.

They have aviation mechanics in the Navy. If that's what you want to do, sign up as a mec.

AD or AM or AS....AO will not give you much in the way of tech experience as far as mechanics.
