No, because then people would fight over the interpretation of things in the religion.

It does not matter what religion it was. After the fall (the sin of Adam and Eve in the garden), God was forced to leave the earth, for he could not coexist with the sin of man. Due to his departure, evil came into the earth, for evil is the absence of God. Human nature then became inclined to evil.

Thus said, people will be people and have conflicts no matter what. The world might be more peaceful, but it would not be perfect. Perfect peace can only exist where God has full dominion, hence his plan for a new heaven and a new earth.

The new heaven and the new earth will be similar to the original earth He created- everything was perfect then. According to John 3:16, "God so loved the world that he gave his son...," you know the rest. But what is important is the meaning of world. It not only means people or the world itself, but the order of the world, referring to the orginal order the world had when God first created it. The thing about the order that he loved was the intimate relationship he had with man in that order. He sent his son to reinstitute in that world order in the manner of again having a close and personal relationship with man.

Perfect peace can only be found where God is completely manifest.

The world would be more peaceful if there was NO religion

(but if there had to be religion, then yes, one religion, would make for a more peaceful world)

According to all religions, there is only one god, so if everyone could get over their petty judgements and concentrate on their worship of the same god, then this would be a giant step towards a more harmonious existence

Yes. If totalitarian is gained over the masses through the manipulation of one belief then all humanity would be subject to the central authority and what ever judgment set forth by it's ruling body. This would cause an enforced peace, but peace none the less. So then, what about the price of freedom for peace. A price I won't pay.

Well, you eliminate the religious wars, but then again, it depends what the religion's policies are. If the religion was Christianity, I still say there'd be bickering. Look at all the divisions in the church today and denominations? But at any rate, there's no 'imagine all the people' today. With or without religion, people are imperfect-- no peace unfortunately. But it's to be expected-- we're only human!

If history is any indication of the future, then no.

Look at Western Europe before the Reformation. It was universally Catholic Christian, yet the people there slaughtered each other for centuries.

Look at the Islamic world. Sunnis and Shiites have been killing each other for centuries. Even within their own sects they have warred on their own people. Repeatedly.

Look to the east. Whether Hindu, Bhuddist, Shinto, whatever... even ignoring wars with different religions, members of the same faith have repeatedly warred amongst themselves.

Religion is only one of many causes for war. Eliminate that reason and we would just kill each other for another.

Not really because people of that religion would be fighting each other over something or another. Look at the wars between the different nations of Islam, like the Iraq-Iran war during the 90's, or wars between different Christian nations over the centuries. We most likely would not have religious wars but we'd still have wars and fights about other things.

No. For as long as Satan is allowed to mislead people and until the time when he is done away with we will not have a peaceful world. The word “devil” means someone who tells lies about another person, a slanderer. “Satan” means an enemy or an opposer. These are terms given to Gods chief enemy. Satan tries to trick people into serving him. (2 Cor 11:3,14) One way he misleads people is through false religion. If a religion teaches lies about God, it really serves the purpose of Satan. People who are members of false religions may sincerely believe that they are worshiping the true God. But they are really serving Satan. He is the god of this wicked system of things. (2 Cor 4:4.). Satan also misleads people through extreme pride of race and the worship of political organizations.
Some feel that their nation or race is better than others. But this is not true. (Acts 10:34, 35). Other people look to political organizations to solve man’s problems. By doing this, they are rejecting God’s Kingdom. It is the only solution for our problems. (Daniel 2:44.)

Aw, come on... that's been tried and tested for over 1300 years and they not only had the strongest armies and soldiers at the time but made damn sure that EVERYONE had to belong to it "in the name of God!"

Today our historians call that period "The Dark Ages." Get it???

Peace be with you!

P.S. Just make a quick survey of the responses here and see if any TWO answers would even agree word-for-word. That's a random sampling of the world we live in... LOL.

No because creating a one religion world really won't do that.. all it will do is drive the other religions underground and be practiced in secret. What happens in society when people feel repressed? People fight.

The world would never be peaceful if everyone were forced to be any particular religion. People believe what they believe, and cannot be forced into changing their beliefs.
