Definately exercise, and more vegetables never really hurt anyone. Though you will want to cut out seconds.

Walk a lot- get used to physical activity. And while I don't ordinarily advise this, talk with someone at a health club who can show you some good stretching exercises, and a good regimen to start building up the muscle and burning off the excess fat.

Another thing: Get a good pair of shoes. You'll be amazed at how big a difference those can make in how sore you get. I tried to get by with a 3 dollar pair of bargain-bin tennis shoes once, and ended up throwing them out after 3 days of feeling like I had been beaten with a rolling pin from the neck on down.

Keep in mind that I don't know your circumstances or what you're calling 'fat', but those shouldn't hurt you at least.

I would think you need to work on your weight, and do some cardio, do you have equipment for this at school? Walking would be a good way to begin, start for 25-30 minutes, and walk brisk. Any kind of exercise that will make you move like walking fast, stationary bike, treadmill, kickboxing, tae bo, swimming, this is what you'll need for weight loss.
Also strength training would be good too, as you'll need to be strong, and this also burns calories. The cardio will burn fat, the weights will burn calories.
Avoid these foods except for once a week: cheeses, sodas, fast foods, fried foods, sugary treats. Limit these and you'll lose right away, and cut your portions in half, you will see weight lose pretty quick by doing this. Hope some of this helps you.....

My son was a linebacker in HS. They started training 2 months before the beginning of the school year. They trained 6 hrs a day in 90 degree weather. So do at least 2 hrs hard gym work every day. Run everyday, even in the heat in full gear. If you don't have gear, put some rocks in a backpack and run. Push yourself a little harder each day. Drink lots of water and lay off the soda and junk food - no cheating. Start now.

Don't do anything and try out for a spot in the O line.

That's a good thing if you are a line man. Just get your jogging going. Start little by little by jogging around half a track, then a whole track, then around twice...etc.
