AND, why are the self-check-out lanes closed????

Maybe they just don't want to pay that many people to run all of the stations at a time when they haven't made enough money to do so in the past.

My question is, since they always lock the doors on one side in the evening, why is it they only have the (one or two) check-out lanes open on the opposite side of the building?

Because Walmart is too cheap to actually hire people to work. Ever try finding a clerk to help you in the toy section? They don't exist. Walmart is trying to boost their profits, after all.

and why, if they are open 24-hours do they lock the doors at midnight?

i never understood the cashiers either. there's only half open......but like 15 cashiers just doing nothing.

because wal-mart does not want to pay people to work the closed registers. they would rather work a few to death than pay employees to provide good service to the customers...
