if you travel alot go for the airline miles.. or if there's somewhere you go once a year every year (like my grandparents to hawai'i) go for the miles.. they don't pay for their ticket to hawai'i every year.. damn them.. if not, go for the cash back.. and the finance charges vary with the companies. good luck.

My wife and I signed up for Citicard Rewards.. We don't even spend that much and we received $600 last year from the credit card company!

I don't care what the finance charges are - we pay it off every month. Otherwise you're not getting rewarded much at all are ya? The card we have has no annual fee.

I don't know about the airline rewards.. I don't fly enough. It scares me :)

I prefer the cash back since it doesn't limit me. The average charges for a credit card today can be found at www.bankrate.com.
