because he is vain

He would because he wants to have everyone praise him. But if he was perfect then he wouldn't need praise or worship! God is just every-ones favorite imaginary friend anyway! No offense to believers, oh and to the guy who said if you don't worship god you worship the devil and go to hell. Look if you don't worship god it doesn't mean you worship Satan! By the way does anyone know what god's real name is?

Oh and could the guy above the guy above me stop saying the O' merciful is real it's less real then god!

Of course he wouldn't want our worship! Imagine an entity creating everything we see, from the tiniest subatomic particles to the biggest galaxy clusters. Click the link below to see the farthest known galaxies--12 billion lightyears away!--and try to imagine someone creating all of that. Billions of galaxies, billions of stars in each one, as well as novas, quasars, planets, etc....WHY would such a being need or demand the worship of tiny, insignificant mortals occupying a tiny, insignificant world revolving around one of countless suns, in a galaxy that is no more special than any other??

That would be the equivalent of you or me demanding the worship of ants. I walk past ant hills every day without a second thought...or even a first thought. They just don't matter to me because they are irrelevant to my existence. So it would be with this creator-god that people have imagined into existence. It would no more concern itself with our brief, unimportant lives than most of us concern ourselves with the lives of insects. Of course, if you're an entomologist, you might be interested in them for scientific and ecological purposes, but I doubt that theists like the idea of their deity regarding them as nothing more than a curiosity, to be kept in glass jars or pinned to a board! They imagine something more personal and loving, and it simply wouldn't happen.

Excellent question, dude. If God is omnipotent, he does not need any worship. And with all the things that happen in this world, and for all the atrocities commited in his name, he does not deserve it either. The Christian God sounds like a sadistic dictator to me.

He/she/it shouldn't. Demanding worship smacks of egotism which is a human failing. This supposedly truly omnipotent, omnipresent and all loving being shouldn't give two hoots if people believe in its existance or not. The important thing should be what kind of people we are.

Worshipping God is to give humans something to do. God doesn't give a rip.

God isn't about being worshipped. That's a primitive idea based on an ignorant fear of evil deities.

Humans invent Gods in their own images.

And many of them demand others worship the God they invented. It's the only way they can get attention.
