What is your honest opinion when you see people saying things like, "Stop the War!", and "Bring the Troops home!"? My husband is in the Army and quite a few friends and they all say they'd rather be helping and doing what they're trained to do than just sitting around. These protestors claim to support the troops, but I think they refuse to actually see it from the troops point of view.

Every one of those protestors will say that they're not protesting the troops themselves, but they are. They're protesting Me, and the guy to my left, and the guy to my right. Because one day, we all raised our right hand and said, "I'll do that." There was no draft when we did this; we did it of our own volition.

I may not agree with every order I am given, but it is my responsibility to obey them all. And yes, I do believe that Saddam Hussein should have been deposed in Iraq. He was killing innocent people simply for disagreeing with him, and based on their ethnicity and religious beliefs. The people of Iraq are also grateful to be rid of Saddam. Most of them want us there; those who don't would like to take over themselves.

The military is steeped in honor and tradition, and I am proud to be a part of that. I don't answer to protestors. I answer to people far more important.

I'm currently deployed in Afghanistan and I for one have no problem with people expressing their opinion thru protest. Part of the reason why the military exists is to protect such rights. I honestly believe that with the exception of a very small minority of extremist, the protestors are against the policy of invading Iraq. They are not against the troops. I think everyone knows that the troops have no control over policy matters. If no one had spoken up against the flawed policies during the Vietnam war the governement might have felt empowered into staying there longer and loosing even more than the 50,000 men that died there. Thanks for your question. Drop me a line if you have other questions.

My husband is a Marine currently in Iraq and the protestors piss me off. Yes, I'd like to have my husband home but he has a job to do and if that job takes him into a hot zone or war zone then he'll go. People who don't live our life have no concept of what we go through or what our spouses REALLY do. It's much easier for civilians to sit back, complain and moan then pick up a sign, walk in a circle for an hour or so and SAY they've done something than actually step up, enlist and DO something.

Trust me, no one wants to really be on the receiving end of a roadside bomb or rounds flying. He's telling you that to make you feel better about his job. However, your husband fights so that these people have the right to protest. First amendment and all. They have the duty to speak for their opinions, even if others don't agree. They don't protest your husband. They protest his deployment, and the risk to his life. They want their loved ones (and your's) home. Don't get upset. Be glad they care. I would be more worried if there were no protestors at all.

I hate nothing more than seeing protestors of war. Sure, I may not like the idea of going to war but it isn't pointless. Protestors should put their efforts into making the deployed military members know that they are concerned and they care- not standing on a street corner yelling and passing negativity.

I love my family, but I liked being deployed. I am looking forward to going back. As for the protesters, if you aren't part of the solution than you are part of the problem. Pressuring the government about the war isn't "supporting the troops." If they would let us fight, get the damn media off our backs, and quit fueling the insurgency with thier protests things would go alot better over there.

ok now you've riled each and absolutely everyone up. Are you having a strong snort at our rate? guess you're. There have consistently been conflict protesters. they could exhibit all they prefer. it really is their proper. those persons that help the conflict and our protection stress could also exhibit to exhibit that. far better, besides the undeniable fact that, to disregard them. deliver out e-mails to each and every of the squaddies in Afghanistan and Iraq telling them how proud you're of them. tell them how a lot you help them. became no longer an anti-conflict demonstrator contained in the 60's and concept that spitting on the returning squaddies became completely incorrect. a minimum of on the instantaneous's anti-conflict protesters do not do this. God Bless america of a and all of her squaddies.

I agree with you. My husband hates that he can't do what's he trained to do. Even when he went to Iraq! The majority of these protestors, not all, don't have loved ones in the military and they don't look at the way we do. Thank you for something about it.
GOD BLESS AMERICA AND HER TROOPS!!!

I think of war protestors as hippy tree huggers. I would equate them to the kid who got picked on in school and never did anything about it. He got his stuff taken and hassled all the time, but never once stuck up for himself.

This war on terror is our way of saying "We aren't going to stand by and let you rule with terror, We are going to bring the fight into your backyard, and make you feel the sting of war."

I think the protestors are more in favor of waiting for more and more attacks on the United States, instead of fighting terrorists abroad before they can hurt or kill our citizens and undermine our freedom with fear.

So, to some it up, you take the fight to them, you don't wait for another huge attack on our soil.
