if the shampoo is not designed for taking chlorine out of the wet hair, they are useless. It is very important to wash the hair right after swimming. No waiting. Second, if you have not tried "Ultra Swim" shampoo [found everywhere], try it, but only after the hair has returned to its correct color. This should be the shampoo to use right after swimming. Third, there is another product that any hairdresser will be able to direct you to that is very effective. The final solution is to have the hair re-dyed. Many of the competitive swimmers take this option and have standing appointments. also, certain kinds of shampoos, [like tresseme] have certain products in the line to help with chlorine. hope it helps!

I have not heard of it, if there is. However, the damage that chlorine does is to dry the hair right out: you could try a home treatment [shop purchased] OR you could put olive oil in your hair [saturate it] make the olive oil warm first. Then wrap a piece of plastic round your head, and leave it in for about 30 mins. Then, shampoo your hair with gentle shampoo, and put in some really good quality conditioner. Otherwise, go to a hairdresser, and ask their advice. Good luck with whatever choice you make with this: and happy hair day once more!

they have swimmers shampoo at any store now. be sure to use right after getting out of the pool, and follow with a conditioner.
also, a good thing to do to try to keep chlorine from building up in hair as much, or as fast, is to wet your hair before getting into the pool. it really does help!

There are tons of shampoos that will help get the chlorine out of your hair. To find them, just go to www.google.com and type in chlorine and shampoo. The results will overwhelm you. Also, you can probably go to Wal-Mart or to Sally's Beauty Supply and buy anti-chlorine shampoo there, if that's easier.

No there isn't, chlorine damages hair and if your blond, it turns a shade of green. The only way to fix it is to grow it out. I imagine you can condition it or color it though, but there is no way to remove chlorine from hair.

ya, are you a swimmer?? well, i am and i use Bumble and Bumble Sunday Shampoo. You use it once a week ((that's why its called sunday)) and it gets rid of chemicals that are bad for your hair, like chlorine! I got it at the salon where i get my hair cut, but you can get it on line if you can't find it http://www.bumbleandbumble.com/

good luck!

I swim on a team six months out of the year, and L'Oreal kids swim and sport shampoo does the trick of keeping the green away. I know it sounds kind of junky because of the word "Kids" but it really works! (It smells great too.)
