unless you are having a planned c-section there is no way of knowing they'll come when they are ready!

As a mom of 2 preemies...you never know. My OB/GYN said they don't know what cause normal labor, let alone premature. There's that saying "baby comes when baby's ready". With both of my pregnancies I felt completely normal, no unusual feelings or changes. First time, I got up in the middle of the night to go the bathroom and my water broke. With my second I got a horrible head cold the day before, I didn't get much sleep so I left early from work to lay down at home. Within two hours I had regular contractions. One week before I had a prenatal visit and my doctor said there was absolutely no signs of preterm labor. You can never tell, just guess.

Its not really nine months. You add 40 weeks from the date of conception to get the due date. To know exactly what day is impossible unless you schedule a day to be induced. Most babies are born anywhere from 2 weeks early to 2 weeks late, depending. Hope that I helped. Tell her congratulations.

there is no way but first baby's are usually late but anywhere from 3 days to a week when second are almost on the due date give or take a day and the third and after are early by a few days but that is not a science so you never know

you count 40 weeks from the first day of your last period. This gives you a due date. You can never be exactly sure of the day your baby will come unless you plan a c-section on that day. Even inducton doesn't guarantee delivery on the same day. I was induced on Monday and didn't give birth til the Tuesday.

there is no EXACT way to know the precise day of birth in advance. the doctor gives you a date based on the first day of your last menstral period, subtract 3 months and add 7 days... but, the doctor will stress that the date is GIVE OR TAKE TWO WEEKS. even when the doctor knows the exact day you conceived (invitro fertilization) they can't give you an exact day... the bun comes out of the oven when it's completely cooked :)

There is only one way to know the exact date your baby will be born, schedule a C section. The gestation time is an estimate and varies from woman to woman and from pregnancy to pregnancy for the same woman.

however, there is no way of knowing exactly when, the baby will come out when it's ready.
my daughter's first due date was sept 7, then the9th,then after having an ultrasound they said sept 25th.
my daughter was born sept 22-neither one of those days, they can give you a general idea or time frame, but it really is up to the baby.
tell your friend congrats and I hope everything goes well!

No one knows exactly, i mean doctors and birth calculators can tell you your expected due date, but no one can be really sure.

For example, my sister was due on the 20th of April, but she was a week over due, and had to be induced.... If the baby isnt ready by the due date, it aint ready...

Here's a useful link anyway! http://www.intmed.mcw.edu/clincalc/pregnancy.html
