I have learned a lot from other religions. The similarities show what could potentially be universal truth. The differences show what is probably just subjective.

I have a strong belief that in the beginning ther was only one church and that through time- other religiaon have come about as break offs, but not an actual part of that religion. Therefore most religions have at least some similar ideas and beliefs. This is proven by learning about many different religions. Knowing that we all share similar beliefs can help us to co exist as children of God. We can learn about others beliefs and still remain very strong in our own religion and what we believe to be true. Learning about the similarities in other religions, helps me to strengthen my own faith and belief that the Lord loved us enough that he brought his church back to this earth for us- the same one that he set up for Adam and Eve.

Response to A Person: Not many people affiliated with a certain religion believe rigidly in the religion's law code. For instance, many Catholics have sex using condoms (otherwise you would see a lot more Catholics...lol), many Christians don't believe in creationism. The concept is similar to how colleges prohibit underage drinking in their school's policies, yet college students choose to follow or contradict that policy. An individual's belief is not necessarily tied to a religious herd. As for learning about various religions, many of us choose to incorporate another religion's policy into our own actions without conversion. This is what defines individual values as we are not bound by a certain religion.

I learned that if you cut many of them down to the basics, they seem to believe in the same thing, they just call it by a different name or see the Almighty as more than one. Religion is what gives God (of any name) a bad face. Men are telling people how to worship and that they must restrict themselves to certain guidelines. I think it is false for a man to tell another what the bible says. If you read it it may have a completely different meaning to you than to the preacher, the same applies to every other holy book I've seen.

Personally no religion will learn from each other because they're too busy spouting about how they are right they are and everyone else is wrong. I think only a few people are open-minded enough to consider another religion.

We can learn about why a person may or may not do something.
We can learn to be tolerant and accepting knowing that most people who have faith are trying to better themselves on a daily basis.

We can learn to accept them being rammed down our throats by lobby groups that want to force us to bow to their religious will through Government legislation... not very pleasant.
