My son had a small one starting around 18 months. He didn't get a normal sized pillow until his 3rd birthday. I bought it for him because wouldn't give mine back. (He kept it for me while I was away one night). He rarely sleeps on it though. I always find him sleeping in the middle of the bed with his head nowhere near his pillow.

well my 2nd baby loved taking his comforter and waddling it up into a ball and laying face first on it. I would take it away he scream so I left it in there...kinda pillow like and it's been there since he was 12 months. Try a little throw pillow that might just be enough. She is old enough to know if she can't breathe turn her head...she will not let herself suffucate in otherwords.
But if it is scaring you then just don't do it.

Thank you for asking this! I was wondering this too. What I'd like to find for my 16 month old is a pillow the size of one they give on airplanes.

I didn;t provide my daughter a pillow till she moved to her "huge lady mattress" in April, she replaced into 2 years and one month., yet she would not use. She basically began employing a pillow approximately 3 months in the past and he or she's 2 and a a million/2.

I gave my older boys a pillow when they moved into a toddler bed. However, my baby just turned one and I gave him a very small pillow in his playpen to see what he would do with it and he actually does know what to do with it. I think it depends on the child though.

It's okay to give her a pillow now. My son needed a pillow at 10 months. If she likes it, it is okay. If your not sure consult her doctor!
