If you are looking for compassion, you have obviously come to the wrong website.

My guess is that everyone who talks about imprisonment has never spent one second on the wrong side of a police officer. Until they've been inside a jail, they should just shut the hell up about who belongs there.

As to rights, I believe that people who commit crimes are still human beings and should be treated as human beings. Sadly, there are many in the criminal justice system who feel differently.

Well, I think it depends on the crime. If you are 17 and having sex with your 15 year old girlfriend, that's one thing. If you are a sick twisted perverted piece of dog $hit who harms a child or rapes a woman, well, then you have forfeit your rights. Life sucks that way.

Sex offenders rights....what a crock of $hit. Then again, the ACLU will probably take your case.
Ah look'a there-you went & made me cuss.

To answer your base question....they have the right to face their accuser, the right to a fair & speedy trail, to be judged by a panel of their peers. Then society needs to find an island surrounded by sharks & pirannha and put them there together for the rest of their lives.

A right to have the same thing done back to them, then the right to a slow painful death by the choice of their victim(s)

They shouldn't be allowed to move into neighborhoods right next to elementary schools. That is as stupid as letting an alcoholic be a bartender.

absolutely no rights at all. i have no respect for anyone who knowingly hurts a woman or a child. one right you do have is to try to run across my back yard and reach the other side in one piece. filthy animal

Very little. After causing that much pain in society they shouldn't have much. They are not longer a functioning and responsible member of society.
