Maybe you need to get another litterbox - cats are finicky, I have one like that. Drives me nuts. He has to be the first one to use it, and if it isn't clean enough for him he goes on the floor. He has issues.

This can be a fustrating problem but with a little strategic measures it can be fixed. Cats are very particular animals. It may be that the litter the cat had in her previous home is not the same that you are using. Also if a cat is introduced into a home that already have cats, it is imposing on their territory if it using the exsiting litter box. It would be a good idea to get her a seperate box with her previous litter. Isolate the cat and the box together away from the other cats for a least a week. Try to prevent any stress to the cat during this time. Slowly you can transition her out of the area but make sure she is aware of where her box is. If this does not help you may want to take her to the vet to insure she is not having control problems. All the best.

i would move the plants if you could where they cannot get to them, but then again they are cats and cats can go to anything!! I have a cat who will only go in a VERY clean litter box. I mean if one of my other cats go in it I have to scoop it when I see it, or else there will be a nasty surprise next to the box. Just try to keep it really clean and if that doesn't work put the mess from the plant ( that was from the cat) into the box and show the cat when you do it. That is how i trained all of my kitties. good Luck and don't give up!!!

Make sure the litter box is clean. With three cats you may need to add a second box. Get the female fixed.
Put something in the plants to discourage re-use.
Patience and consistency works best in training cats !!

i have the same problem. My vet said that the cats are "stressed" and that' s how they show their discontent--by peeing in wrong places. Has this problem only been happening since you brought your mom's cat into the home? If so, either That cat is stressed out being there, or your 2 other cats are stressed having the new cat there or Both. Good luck--mine are STILL peeing!! Phew!

Poor you!, i use SCAT-A-CAT on my outdoor planters, works
wonders! as for indoor plants, try orange and lemon peel, or perhaps a bit of lemon essence on the pots, they hate citrus smells.
All i can suggest for the tiles is if it's always in the same place, put a dirt tray there and try using a deodorizing powder in it, that they do like!!. Good luck!!.

is the litter box too full? this is usually the reason for females, cause they don't mark territory like unfixed males. is it too late to switch it up? or you might try putting detrol in her diet. she could be lame also, hard to answer with out any facts.
