Only you - not the answer you wanted, but ask yourself "What do I really want to do, enjoy doing; you'll be good at that. You already know what it is, now find places & ways to do it. When someone appreciates your gifts, enjoy the appreciation and keep going. Do it every day. But, be aware that some people will try to take advantage, lie to you; ask yourself "was that for real?" then trust the real answer that comes to you. You don't need everyone's approval; just the approval of those who really enjoy your success.

The glamor and fame that we are constantly exposed to in the media; that's just one part of the story. Being a singer or an actress involves lots of hard work, restrictions, discipline and dedication.
What lies in your hands is committing yourself to being the best singer you can. Put all your effort into it. Today there are several opportunities like American Idol etc. where if you're really good, you will get recognized. Good Luck!

You, of course. Then there are movie companies. Also, try out in American Idol. That helps. Have you see the commerical with Taylor Hicks?
