Not if she loves him..
The human body can only endure so much. Pretending that there is no problem is not only not good for either your wife or son (or yourself for that matter), it will likely only lead to more serious consequences down the road. Dealing with the problem while it is still 'correctable' would be far more benefical in the long run, rather than denying it, and hoping it just goes away.
I wish you all the best of luck

NO.... it is giving false hope and you don't want to lie to someone you care about. How about talking to him or trying to help some other way to let him know that he needs some kind of help to loose the weight depending on his age you can try doing things as a family. Work out with him so he doesn't feel singled out.
Or trying an activity that he can slowly get involved in.

No Way! That will make him think he's doing just fine when in fact he is not. The best policy is honesty. Just sit him down and talk with him about life you will find out the reason he over eats and maybe he will too. It's funny how you don't know things about yourself until it comes out of your mouth. GOOD LUCK :)

If she thinks if will encourage him to really try to loose the weight. If she just mentions it, it might help him want to loose weight. Good luck.

No don't lie, but don't tell him he's getting bigger either, that will make him depressed and want to eat more. You should ask him if he wants to go play catch, go on a walk, or go do something you can both do together that is physical. Good quality time and your son can benefit.

No parents are supposed to be the ones who you can trust to give you honest advice, answers and parents don't like being lied to so why would your wife think it is ok to lie to your son

No I don't think that she should. If she tell him that he is when he isn't he may seem to believe that he is. He may think what he is doing won't matter because he looks as if he is losing weight. It's a mental thing I believe.

If he's really putting in an effort to lose weight, then yes it might help to encourage him to lose more weight.

no, even though she may think she's protecting him by saying that. o think she should talk to him, because it will hrt much later when he's gotten larger and older because it's harder to get back to being slimmer. trust me, it would do alot of good, if she told him the truth....the truth may hurt...but it protects...if that makes since..
