I am an oil painter w/5 yrs experience...with any canvas, just spritz the back side with water in a fine mist. It will tighten as it dries and yes, you can use a hair dryer to speed up the process on a low to medium setting or just let it dry naturally. It might take 2 tries depending on how loose it is.

I spray a little water on the backs if they are stretched out before I paint. Sometimes they get dents in them, making them out of shape, after I've painted on them some, and I will just take a hair dryer, on high heat and go over the whole thing, from the front for a couple of minutes or so depending on the size of the canvas. Works like a charm. Warm heat won't hurt the acrylics, I use it constantly to dry the canvas faster (yes, for some of us, sometimes acrylics dry too slow) between layers.
Hope this helps.

The one way to tighten the canvas is to spray water on the back and let it dry and it will tighten when it dries.
The other method is there is this plastic wedges that you get sometimes with your canvas , put them in the corners in your canvas,. Your canvas should have little slats in the corners wedge them in there and it will do the trick.

A hair dryier might do the job, but it might take a lot of time. My step father has told me, that a strecthced canvas is good for painting. So why don't you let it be, and just use it?

how did it stretch? from humidity? or moisture?
leaving it out in the sun might work, but a hair dryer with cool setting on low would be ok, too.
another solution would be to restretch the canvas. this would require using a staple gun, to reattach the canvas on the stretcher bars.

You can have it stretched out again by a professional service, and if it is still empty; no painting on it you can buy a jar of "gesso" at a local art supply store, and that will help smooth it even more.
