I would like to be able to trim my own bangs when they get too long. Or should I let them grow longer to keep them out of my eyes

Let them grow so you can sweep them back

when your bangs are dry, style them into the angle you will want, and then cut so they are even AT THAT ANGLE. For a slightly worn effect (as opposed to a just-cut look), pull a top layer of the bangs straight up and then cut a SMALL amount off of them. It makes the hair look finished but doesn't give it the "just out of the hairdresser" look. If you aren't sure how it will look, always err on the long side, so that if you mess up you have room to work with.

Some are razor cut and others are just angled and cut with scissors. You may want to watch a few videos or acutal haircuts to assure you understand the 'how'.

If i were you, i would cut my bangs....but keep them long enough to go up in a high pony tail...that way you can wear them both ways.
