I don't entirely trust my doctor. In most instances I trust his treatment when he is sure what it is he's treating me for. But sometimes he is only guessing, or just doesn't know what's wrong. Then I don't trust his ordering a multitude of expensive tests, especially when he still doesn't find out what's wrong. I don't trust his being so hidebound in his search for a diagnosis, so cautious about going outside the box, so to speak, to find a cure.

YES YES YES.
Dr Ed Reed in San Antonio, Texas. This guy actually explains stuff to me, listens to me, and I don't know what I would do without him.
He tells me about stuff that becomes news in 6 months.
The hardest thing to do is finding a good doctor. After my family doctor died, I spent about 2 years going from 1 new doctor to another, until I signed up for Pacificare here. I just selected his name blindly, and have been extremely happy ever since.

I don't trust my primary care physician, except for acute problems. I go to a Naturopath who is also an MD for chronic issues. I trust him because he has helped me the most and improved my quality of life.
AMA doctors have misdiagnosed me and wanted to pump me full of pills. My naturopath discovered I had food allergies that caused the symptoms that were misdiagnosed as IBD. Now that I don't eat wheat and milk I don't have any problems and I don't have to take hundreds of pills every day that have their own side-effects. I can't even call it a miracle cure because he explained it all to me and it makes a lot of sense.
A great book is "Patient Heal Thyself" by Jordan Rubin, MD
