it means something like "until we see each other"
hasta means until.
and la vista, means the view, but as is a modism, you cannot translate it exactly. its a way to say good bye, expecting to see the other person some time later (minutes, years, etc.)

The people are very crazy. Gente is a singular noun in Spanish but means 'people'. Also it is written la gente está muy loca.
