Why does everyone post these religious questions as if anyone is going to change their opinion? Everyone here(ESPECIALLY the christians ive noticed) are just calling others stupid for what they believe... whats the point?

People ask questions because they have them,or maybe here just to get points. Who cares,if you don't like these questions go to another category.
Also,I am a Christian. I would not call anyone with differing views stupid. I do believe SOME people with different views are ignorant (not aware of) why some people believe as they do.
I definetly don't have all of the answers. Religion is like that.

People are posting religious questions, because this section of YA is "Religion and Spirituality".
I've not noticed an awful lot of nasty behavior by Christians, although I'm sure there has been some...but I have sure noticed a great many mocking, nasty questions about Christ and Christianity. No other religion has come in for nearly as much hate-spewing as Christianity...not even Islam. That amazes me, and makes me believe Christianity to be the truth, since Christ did warn His followers that the world would hate them...uh, 2,000+ years ago. I wonder how He knew?

I can't help but wonder...what is it about Christians that makes people so angry? (I'm not talking here about those arrogant, self-righteous hypocrites--even Christians aren't too fond of them. I am talking about disciples of Jesus Christ, here.) Is it their concern for others? Is it their willingness to share their belief? Is it their unswerving faith in the face of attack? Hmmmm.....

People are using this as a forum to deal with their own doubt in their religious beliefs. They don't really believe the crap that they spew, but they want to hear it coming from someone else too, so it will be a little easier for them to believe. That's why fellowship is such an important part of religion. It's much easier to believe in something that you know isnt true when everyone else seems to believe it. Look at Nazi Germany for example. I'm sure that pretty much everybody in germany knew it was wrong to murder people, but they allowed millions of Jews to be killed just because everyone else seemed to believe in it.

Using an insult as an argument for your point of view only emphasizes to your opponent that you really have no sound basis for your argument. Many people post questions merely to incite others rage. I simply ignore those who wear their ignorance as a badge and provide an intelligent answer to those who seem to be sincere. So to answer your question as to why, some to boost their own egos, others to simply incense people who have strong beliefs, and the rare few who really want to know. The real question we should ask ourselves is, which type am I?

This is the religion and spirituality section, we're supposed to ask such questions.

Answering something as "stupid" doesnt change anyones oppinion but there are a few of us here with slightly more education who would actually like to try and answer sincere questions.

I post religious questions so I can see people's opinions and if possible change theirs. If they dont change theirs for mine, a good argument could make my day.

A trademark of collective arrogance is the need to externalize onto others.

You can't be sure you're 'absolutely right' if you don't denounce others for being wrong - constantly.
