i've tried everything with him. Here's a list, and the reason why it won't work.
Friends: They're all busy, i can't contact them.
Camp: I couldn't find one at the right price, or right location that i wanted to go to.
Reading: I already read 100-200 pages a day! (this is true and i'm proud of him for it :-)
Watch TV: it's boring
Go on the computer: It's boring.
What can I do?

if you're not busy why not play football with him, or a sport that he likes. encourage him to get in touch with his/her friends. give him something to do, teach him something new. if none of that works, tell him to wash the dishes.

My little brother is also 12 and bored and out of school. What we helped him do is we gave him an activity to look forward to each day. He likes dogs, so we asked the old woman on our block if my little brother could walk her dog for her. So he does that in the afternoon. He also asked another person if he could be responsible for watering their flowers/grass when they are at work. So he does that in the morning. He gets paid for all of these little jobs and it gives him something to do. Ask your son if he enjoys things like that and the pay will be an incentive. Help him make nice flyers that he could post around your neighborhood or apartment.
GOOD LUCK!!

well you did not say if you are a stay at home Mom. But it all has to do with friends, when my son was 12-13, they were out all day on bikes, skateboards, talking on Nextel, up town, at the school yard playing basketball. Probably smoking pot & hanging with older girls down by the marina. But he always kept busy. Both of my sons are popular. My little one is 7 she is up my a s s all day.

Put him to work. Find a "project". Work on the landscaping. Re-decorate a room. Plant fruit trees. etc.
Choose something that accomplishes something. Something where he can see the progress and be proud of it when he is finished. Let him help in the planning stages too. (Visit Home Depot, Lowes, etc for ideas.)
Be sure to cheer him on as he accomplishes parts of the task.

Create a project he can do around the house and create an incentive for it. This will help you by getting a task done you probably have not wanted to do and gets him something to look forward to, such as cash, an outing, a sleepover with friends...etc....
Good Luck

There are lots of summer activities he can be apart of at the local park district. If this doesn't work, sign him up for a sports activity. Many church's have vacation bible school where they do lots of fun activities. This just can't be hopeless. Good luck!

Alot of times community colleges have no credit classes for people wanting to just learn and have fun. My Parents sent me to an art class when I was youg. Try your local school for fun classes like that.
