Christianity does have a past that isn't squeaky clean. It is history, and it goes without saying. However, when you direct this kind of anger at Christians as a whole, you make a grievous error in judgment. Not all Christians behave like those you posted your thoughts about. Just like everything else, there are many levels. I am a Christian and am often disgusted by some of the so-called Christians out there. Their behaviour is appalling. I do not sit in judgment of others, nor persecute those who's shoes I have not walked in. Maybe you should re-think your statement a tad bit. Take a look around you. Open your eyes and see that nothing is white and black...there are many shades of gray.

My answer to your question is: You don't know your history, remember the Dark Ages when Christians were being persecuted by the Roman Government. Ya know thrown to the lions or being butchered by the gladiators because they wouldn't fight them. Also, before that in Egypt where the Pharaohs made the Jews work as slaves to built his city out of clay bricks. You know the story of the 10 Commandments with Charlton Heston.
People in foreign countries, even today are being persecuting for their beliefs. How about recently when that Man wanted to leave his country because he wanted to convert to Christianity from being a Muslim. He keep he would be killed, so he fled his home land.
Please get your facts straight, I'm certainly not angry, just concerned that you don't know your H I S T O R Y.

"Christians" have indeed done some persecuting, but dont forget we have also been persecuted. Remember Saul's deal of having them all killed in the early church? The Lions den? The slaughter of Christians in Medievel times if they didnt practise paganism (hense the adopting pagan holidays as our own)
Christianity itself is not violent, there has been violent people who claim to be Christians. Jesus never taught the violence nor did the apostles. People who have been, were on their own accord not because the Bible told them too. Can we freely say that Non Christians are violent because they too have slaughtered? I'm sure there's pleanty of non-christians who would hate to be lumped into that catagory.

Christians are being persecuted and the church is growing because of it, Look at china, there are millions of christians in china now becaue of the persecution, Jesus said we would be persecuted, He never said we should persecute. if christians have persecued then they have been in the wrong, because they have been going against the teaching of christ, We have nothing to hide in the present, I follow the bible and if anything is against what it teaches then i am against it, i have no wareyness or shame in saying that, i have no secrets. Blaming people now for what people who they are historicaly associated with is rediculous and i will condemn those who persecute others along with you, remeber just because someone is telling people they follow god and are doing his bidding, doesnt make it true, the bible warns of people like this and warned strongly against it, you can slag off christians as much as you like but you have to realize that they are human, it is the bible and gods word that is infallible. as far as im conccerned people can persecute me as much as they want, because i am committing no wrong in being persecuted,
Feel free to be prejudice to us if you want, wont change anythinh

You really must be on drugs.
Sometimes mentally ill people have a feeling of being persecuted and often they stockpile chemical weapons for some unforseen attack that "may" or "may not" happen in the future.
Keep smoking that Saddam Crack, it does wonders for your social life, I'm sure you have lots of friends.

I'm sick and tired of atheists "preaching". Can anyone else tell me if they've had the same experience? Atheists and agnostics dogging my religion, trying to "convert" me to what they believe in. I have never in any way, shape or form, tried to exert my beliefs on anyone else. I believe religion/or lack of it, is a private and personal thing. No one has the right to talk dirty about anyone else's beliefs. You need a new hobby if this is your current pastime. Atheists are the "new evangelists'. (And we all know how people feel about evangelists).
