I know it's impossible, but i'd love for you to share some answers. My cats ALWAYS sit in the windows and smudge them up with their noses and chase birds that fly by...it's hilarious! The funniest thing about them is...they don't like to go outside...they'd rather sit in the window and look outside.

Is it one window or the whole house? If it is only one window, just clean it once a week and be done with it. They are happy and you seem to enjoying watching them.
You can close the blinds in the windows that you don't want them in. It worked for me and I have 4 in the house.

Yeah my cats do the same.. they run all over the house jumping from window to window to get the best view of whatever it is they think is going on out there. Just be thank ful your cats dont have allergies.. it becomes more than just pawprints you'll be wiping off the window. Heres a good one my cat kiki likes to sit in my bathroom window and act like shes trying to get the tree thats outside of it... Its cute that she thinks she is such a badass, she actually broke the screen earlier this year attempting to smack it....LOL

Why would you want to take that away from them?It seems to me that is sometimes the only form of entertainment for a cat.But if you absolutely have to WalMart has a spray called "Bitter Cat Lotion". Fantastic stuff. Under $10.00, just spray on window ledge once a month or on the screen.

Have you tried any of the products on the market now that are supposed to keep pets off and out of areas you don't want them? I've also heard cats don't like the smell of citrus. Another option, although more expensive, is a scat mat. They provide different levels of a little shock when stepped on.

You could open the window. Since you said they don't want to go out, then they would be safe that way and your windows would be clean. Except in the winter but there aren't many birds in the winter anyway.

it's cat tv! leave them be. they entertain themselve with this. why stress yourself and them trying to stop them from doing something they obvious enjoy and you find hilarious. get plenty of paper towels and windex. no big deal to clean windows. my cats love looking out the windows, whats a few snotty nose prints if they are having fun?

Put heavy objects on the sill so the cat can't get in the window.

Hey don't complain wouldn't you rather have to Windex your windows once in a while than have your cat run over by a car outside?!?!

Pet stores sell what's basically double sided tape that you can attach to your windowsill. Cats don't like the feeling of the stickiness on their paws, so won't go up there.
