I was NOT snooping or prying. I simply went in to shut his window before I went out and found 3 empties on the desk and 1 on the floor. Is it strong? Will drinking 4 cans close together make him drunk? I can't tell how long it took him to drink them. It could have been 1 a day. I don't know. He had one today before he went out to a mates house and he said he was bringing some with him. Also he is 20 so he is old enough to drink them but I simply thought he shouldn't be drinking alone in his room. Am I over reacting?

u r defiantly over reacting! he's 20 hes gonna drink, get drunk throw up with or with out his mates. why is it such a big deal him drinking on his own maybe he just wanted to have a few to unwind didn't feel like going out. i wouldn't think any one would get drunk after 4 cans of fosters (Nat's piss)! I would however be worried if u found 4 empty bottles of vodka in his room.

are you in canada? the last i heard 20 was still underage for drinking in the usa. i would say if this happens once and he wasn't trying to hide it, it's probably not a problem, unless alcoholism runs in your family. but keep your eyes open that he doesn't drink and drive.

by the way, foster's is vile beer, in my opinion. all you aussies out there, don't freak, but only the europeans seem to know how to make great beer.

yeah your over reacting. most young men drink alot, even on their own. id be supprised if he got drunk off only 4 cans though cos beer isnt that strong. im not sure how old you are but maybe you need to get out a bit more cos then you would be able to see your brothers normal x

If it's legal, then I don't see what's wrong. Maybe he was just relaxing at home with a few drinks. However, if you think he has been acting depressed or different lately, then you should talk to him immediately to see what's wrong and if he is drinking responsibly. In the US, 21 is the legal age though, so then it wouldn't be ok.

There's not a great deal wrong, at his age he'd probably rebel if you nagged him about it. Just keep an eye on him and make sure the alcohol level does not rise and he does not move onto wines and spirits. All this advice refers to his room of course. If he goes out and gets blasted then that is his business.

Sounds like everyone I know, when they were 20, and it's not a good thing, but it is a phase. Suggest that when he wants to drink, he should do so with you. This will be a surprise to him, but it is also a steading influence. Be patient it'll pass.

Hell no. Everyone needs a hobby so they can have some alone time. Plus, I wouldn't worry about four cans; you should worry if you find two or three empty cases (24 packs).

As long as he doesn't become abusive, and/or voilent and only drinks in moderation then I wouldn't worry too much.

But I would monitor his alcohol intake to the best of your ability.

You know you are over reacting ....if it had been special brew i could have seen your point. Fosters....is that still classed as an alcohol??
