they know its food and it looks like a flower. When the feeder is moved, they probably think one flower has died and another has taken its place just like in nature.

It's just a matter of going where the food is. I think they could care less if it's from a flower or a bird feeder.

They definitely know the feeder is for them and they remember where it is from one year to the next. This is why once you establish a place for the feeder it should stay there. Every year I put a hummingbird feeder outside my window. One year I was late doing it and a hummingbird actually knocked on my window as if saying "FEED ME". I did.

I don't know that they know you are feeding them, but they will remember where the feeder is...The color attracts them, (usually red and yellow) and they like the red colored water with sugar. Not that sugar is really good for them, but they crave the sweet, colored water!!

In my neck of the woods, we've what we categorised a "hummingbug" this is smaller than a hummingbird (we've those, too) yet very lots resembles one in flight & strikes. I got here to be certain later ir replaced into extremely a moth, referred to as a "Hummingbird Moth." i've got faith that's what your yahoo seek shows. As boys, we used to purpose to seize them in flight, yet never succeeded, however. i've got no longer seen any around in somewhat a on a similar time as, however.

I think animals know when they're being fed, including birds. Our hummers come back every year. And seem to know when we put in fresh juice.

I think they know, because they come back to my grandmother's house each year... Did you know that hummingbirds are the only birds that can fly backwards?
