Well, I'm not O/C. I just really can't stand the thought of breathing the whif of someone I walk past - not knowing what I'm breathing in.

You breath in germs every breath you take no matter if somebody else is close or not.

You haven't died yet so stop worrying.

Yes. But you have an immune system and it fights these things for you. Trust me, it works great.

You're not going to catch anyting airborne that you can't recover from. The worst that could happen is that you would get sick, but I'm sure you've been through that once or twice already and you survived. You will be just fine.

Please talk to a counselor, you may be obsessive-compulsive. They can work with you to help you deal with your worrysome thoughts.

You are obsessive compulsive or are a hypochondriac. It is a disease that could be crippling because it will limit you from living your life to the fullest. It is highly unlikely that you can get an airborne disease. Get treatment. O/C disorder or hypochondia is worse than a cold or flu.

Yes you can breath in germs. I highly doubt you will catch a seriuos disease from them unless they have a terminal case of it. Brushing your teeth can kill germs also. If you find you are seriuosly paranoid about illness try talking to a phsychiatrist about because you could have a mental condidtion (dont worry its controlable and lots of people have it)Still need reasurance? Ask a doctor or look on a medical website.

if you're going to hold your breath, there is no reason only to do it when people walk by. If you are that obsessive compulsive...fine, but if you are going to hold your breath do it when they sneeze or cough...the moisture in that is what will carry a disease that person may have.
