I show dogs so I know from experience. Outside of the ring i take a washcloth and rinse it with some warm, or on a hot day take them outside and do it with cold. Be sure not to press hard. Do this every time they get some "gunk" in their eyes. This technique also help keep their eyes healthy!

What I have used before was a dampened soft wash cloth.... Actually, I put the wash cloth under the faucet and get it pretty wet and then I softly wash the sleep away....

Get a washcloth and run hot water on it. It loosens it up and takes it away without pulling on the hair.

warm wash cloth, and just hold her down, gently, and just wipe it softly. or take her to a groomer and they can cut the hair away from her eyes.
