Gay marriage does not necessarily mean marriage in a church of God. You cannot expect churches to go against what they believe to be right..just as you cannot expect homosexual individuals to deny what they feel is right.
What is wanted is the ability to be legally together as a couple and to enjoy all the privileges that go along with that legal title. What a lot of conservative Christian types seem to misunderstand is that no one is making the churches open up their doors to this union. It's a matter of choice. If the churches can choose not to have them, then gay couples should be allowed to choose another method of celebrating their union. Choice isn't just granted to heterosexuals. Homosexual's pay taxes just the same as heterosexual people do - don't they deserve to be able to have the same rights?
To touch on something: if God gave us these organs to make children..then what about couples who use condoms? They're not making children. They may never make children. Is that any different? I think not. Sex doesn't mean making babies. Heterosexual and homosexual couples across the board celebrate that. And don't try to say otherwise. Heh. It's a way to show love.
In conclusion...get over it. I'm sure that homosexual couples will stay far, far away from the sanctity of your church and will enjoy their happy lives together elsewhere.

whatever... YES. It's just sad that we're having to win our civil rights over something as personal as the right to marriage. Most conservative Christians (ie fundamentalists) don't accept gays period. Homophobia and sexism are very old indeed. These churches and institutions are all very lucky we don't have a "by any means necessary" motto, or it would be riots and vandalism and the 1950's and 60's all over again. Furthermore, the bible has much more positive and encouraging things to say about intersexuals than to the contrary. Fundamentalist Christian leaders intentionally ignore these verses taking old words and meanings completely out of context to justify their homophobia, causing their congregations to stumble, and be lead astray by hatred and bigotry. For gay Christians and Christians with gay family this is tragic and abominable.

Nobody should force churches to accept/celebrate gay marriages. That said, the term "marriage" has gone from being a union of man/woman sanctified by god to a civil contract of two people agreeing to live with one another for various legal reasons/benefits. I absolutely believe that homosexuals should have the same rights/priveleges under the law as heterosexuals. I don't believe that the government should be in the business of licensing marriage. Everyone should be civily unionized and if you want to get married then go to church and do it under the rules of your denomination.

Gay marriage should be a right of every Gay person. However, in the eyes of God it is not! They should have the same rights everyone else does outside of church though. If they wish to start their own church so be it, however, many churches do not allow it and that should not be changed.

It's a dead horse Gay people are here and they think they should have the same rights as straights. I believe God Made adam and Eve not steve and joe and melissa and sarah. But whatever I'm chill and Gay people are going to do thier thing regardless and there is nothing we can say about, I'm thankful I'm not gay so i can have my own children with my wife and not adopt or whateve they do. In the end all you can worry about is you.

None of them want to get married in a church. That's a red herring and you know it.
Marriage is a legal institution, not a religious one. So same sex marriage is a civil right. Making it a human right.
Understand now?

You can have marriage with out sex and love with out sex! Pleasure and love are two different things! All people sin and fall short of the glory of god! It dose say that we are to love all people and what is done is done and if you get married then you shouldn't get divorced!

I agree. this is nasty. God told us man is to be with woman. Jehovah God did the first marriage with Adam and Eve. not man with man or woman with woman. yuck. also they should not get the same rights and a man and woman who are married get. they should not get any rights and should not be able to have any children or raise them. I don't hate the person, I hate what they are doing.

I don't get why christians are so afraid of gay marriage. How are they hurting you? Do they not deserve to be happy? You say they are going to hell, wouldn't that just make more room for you and yours in heaven? Let them get married!!!
