since Adam ate the fruit of knowledge, why do i still need to go to school and why i fail my exams in school?

Oh, the Tree of Knowledge. Actually, it was Eve who ate the apple from that tree. It only taught them to realze that they were naked, then they felt embarrassed, then God noticed. I want to know why God even put it there.

The Bible refers to the tree of "the knowledge of good and evil" (Genesis 2:17) which Adam and Eve ate from. We don't know what fruit was on the tree.

As for going to school, it's necessary because learning about the past and learning math are not good or evil in and of themselves. It's what we do with that knowledge that is. When we have the knowledge and don't apply ourselves (or seek help to do so), that's when we fail exams and all else in life.

I pray that you will do better with your schoolwork, but all the prayer we can muster will not help unless you help (i.e., apply) yourself.

Actually, in a way, you're right. But it ALL DEPENDS on your personal goals and objectives, see?

IF we're merely talking about differentiating between GOOD and EVIL, then we don't need to go to school for that at all [this is the part where you're right], and we can live happily ever after out in the boonies with the rest of the forest denizen... as they used to back in the day. We ALL have that kind of knowledge built into our systems when we were created, see?

But IF we're talking about HAVING WORLDLY POSSESSIONS and whatnot, like the simple things called jobs, cars, housing, clothes, gas money, computers and stuff... then it's not a matter of GOOD and EVIL anymore but HOW MUCH it costs.

And for that, dear child, you need to get at least a G.E.D. certificate or high school diploma to turn burgers and fries; a college degree to become a bank teller trainee; a Master's degree to enter middle management in a corporate world; a Ph.D. to publish your own ideas and theories; a rocket scientist to be employed at NASA; etc...

So, study hard so that you'll be able to afford paying that monthly bill for your DSL connection on your own. LOL.

It was the tree of the knowledge OF GOOD AND EVIL.

That, is, eat the fruit, and know the difference. That's why they realized they were naked after eating it, and covered themselves.

The real queston is, if THEY ate it, why do WE know good and evil? The explanation reminds me of RL Stevenson's "Just So" stories (the reason that elephant's today have long trunks is that the baby elephant long ago got it's nose grabbed by a croc, and in pulling it away, got it stretched.).

I think because you are not adam and that you are your own person and that going to school and doing well is how you will get your "fruit of knowledge". Adam eating the fruit could simply be a metaphor.

It was a symoble of something that was Gods and if they disobeyed what would happen to them is bad, things that were to never happen in perfect Paradise.
