I've had a chicken egg for 6 days that is possibly fertile. I've heard during the lst 3 days of incubation the humidity has to be raised and you stop turning the egg over on the 17th or 18th day. Is there any other advice anyone can give me?

only be optimistic you do not provide them chilly water. i began mine out with 98degree water with a tablespoon of sugar in a quart of water. I dipped each and each chicks head in the water 3 diverse cases. The I took them over to the nutrients and pushed their head in a pecking action also using my finger to p.c.. on the crumbles. make optimistic that they can get faraway from the nice and cozy temperature to their own delight. i take advantage of pine timber shavings for the bottom of my brooder. in the technique June I were given 18 Polish. They despatched 19 and that i nevertheless have 18. I were given 27 Turkeys on July1. I nevertheless have 26 of them. save the bedding dry, sit down the water on a small piece of ply timber. The timber shavings extremely save the birds from messing their legs up. (splay shall we)Feed them good and adjust their water 2 or 3 cases an afternoon till you'll get a fountain that hangs above the floor. that's what mine are graduating to. i'm progression a fence so i'm able to enable the turkeys out. i'm putting the chickens in the Parrot barn. i will save the pullets and enable them devour what the parrots waste. that's about 60% of what you feed them. The chickens can devour it and grants me eggs to ease assorted the loss. good success at the same time with your chickens.

What you heard is true. Your best bet is to spray the eggs lightly with water during incubation. (speaking as one who just had 8 chicks hatch)

One really important peice of advice. Turn the egg, but don't open the incubator to often, that can hurt the chick....
