we were looking through her baby book , and of course at the beginning there were tons of pics of me pregnant.....
first thing she said was "MOM , your fat"
:( and i explained to her that i had her in my tummy...
then she gasped said "YOU ATE ME!!!!!?????"
lol after laughing she kept asking me, why did you eat me mom?
i TRIED explaining to her that she was growing inside of me..but thats alll i could think of saying!!
what are the things you would have said????
(remember shes 4, so im def. not going into the "birds and the bees" lol

Tell her that you and her Dad loved eachother very much and wanted a baby so God put her there.

Get a bean and place it in a clear glass with some dirt. Explain that God placed a baby seed inside Mommy and it grew into a baby. When it was big enough to come out and play the baby came out like the bean came out of the ground at the right time(pray that it actually sprouts!)

I probably would have said something like that when 2 people love each other God gives them a baby that grows in mommy's belly until the baby is big enough to come out..... Hard thing to answer when put on the spot :) The eating thing was cute though :) hehe

I dont feel there is any need to go into details she may not comprehend yet.
When my child asked me the same thing, I told her that is where babies grow...
That babies arent eaten but they are made by two people who love each other...
That babies are made with lots of love and it's because of this love that the baby is carried inside the mommy...
I believe in answering kids questions as honestly as possible and within the understanding they have. Personally, I dont believe in hiding the truth or little white lies when it comes to kids...

u could make up some speel that a baby comes from an egg and an egg is inside mommy so she was inside mommy before she was a baby, and when mommy has a baby egg inside her she gets fat, then she pops and there is a baby?? i cant think of much else!! im probably not much help tho, im only 16 lol. but make a wee story up, its fun doing that with little children, the best bit is they believe you! lol

Well, its simple, you tell her that you didn't eat her, you were trying to be like a kangaroo, and help her grow in your tummy, just like the kangaroo helps her baby grow in a pouch. And, when the baby is all grown up in the pouch/ tummy and is ready to make new friends and grow to be a big girl, then you let her out of your pouch and now she is here with you.

I went through the same thing when I was preg. with my 2nd child. My 7 yr. old was 3 at the time. He asked the same question about eating his baby brother. I told him that just like the baby in my belly, he was once a beautiful angel who lived with god and when god wanted him to be here, he chose me to be his mommy. To teach him things and to sing to him and to love him. So God put him in my belly when I was sleeping so he could grow there. And when he was done growing in my belly, God decided to let him come into this world so mommy could love him.

I had a similar situation with my son about the same age and I just told him God placed an egg in my belly and he stayed there until he hatched into a baby. He then wanted to know how'd he get out. I told him the dr took him out. I couldn't bare to tell him that either LOL

at this point i would just be creative with her. tell her something like that the stork (a commonly used theme amongst people) brought her to you and you were taking care of her in your tummy until she was strong enough and ready to come out to the world. that is all i can really think of right now. i hope that i have helped you in any way.

explain to her that she was in your uterus not your tummy where food goes. then if she wants to know more tell her that you'll tell her when she's older. If she still won't let it go there are alot of good books out there geared towards young children for explaining where babies come from

Just say that she was a twinkle in her daddys eye so the angels came and ask god to give mummy a baby.....worked for my sisters 4 yr old.
