He his the tech for our copier and he comes by occasionally for repairs on the machine.

Absolutely! Why not? The worst that will happen is he'll say no, but be flattered that you asked, and the sun will still come up the next day. And you might get a yes!

I asked out a lady who gave us training on a new phone system and we dated happily for over 2 years.

Don't let your boss read this but I'd suggest breaking the copy machine, when the copy repair person arrives you'll have your opportunity to ask them without having to improperly use your company's vendor information (which could get you in trouble).

Of course breaking the copy machine could also get you in trouble, you may just want to wait until the next visit occurs.

Be bold, but don't compromise your job security in pursuit of a partner that you aren't even sure you are compatible with.

well, that could go bad. I would just next time talk to him and maybe ask him out, but I wouldn't call, unless he already gave you his private cell phone or home phone..and make sure he is not married or has a girlfriend.
