Since belly buttons are remnants of the umbilical cord - and Adam and Eve were created by God - why would they have had an umbilical cord?

well, they were here about six thousand years ago if you believe the bible.and ever picture or painting of them has been done in the last 800 years. nobody really knows what they looked like. they are strictly a impression by the painter.or artists. right.

well heres my theory. When all those paintings of Adam and Eve were made, the painters probably didnt know the function of a bellybutton, and what it was (the remnants of the umbilical cord). And maybe they figured that the bellybutton was always there and had no real purpose. But then again, I really don't know. Good question!

Who cares about Adam and Eve when most Churches ( some of them did change tough) and most ppl wear Jesus crucification cros is totaly wrong.
I would guess most ppl don't even realise how wrong that ( no suprise that they are not educated)
. Nails were not trough the palm, nails were trough the rist.
Its amasing that ppl still using old and outdated images and understandings. Go to your church and see how it shows.
Crucification was a common practice by roman and they new better than all those modern and early Christians that body weight could not be suported trough the palms. That's why all crucifictions were done trough rists which supports more weight.
Some ppl should take some time to educate them self before puting out to the world.

Therefore GOD and uneducated ppl do exist.

I'm thinking when modern day people found the pictures Adam & Eve had drawn of themselves the belly bottons were air-brushed in to make them look more normal. Who the heck knows the answers to this stuff?

I am sure now that this insightful question has been asked many future artist renditions of Adam and Eve will be sans-bellybutton. I'll of course be curious to see the finished products.

I propose, why have they were given something? Ears? Elbows? maximum of those issues advance contained in the womb, proper? Adam and Eve look like us because they're meant to be the first human beings. and that is the in straight forward words reason.

GOOD QUESTION: Perhaps an artist's prerogative stemming from an ignorance or naivete surrounding the human anatomy's functionality? Or, maybe the artist(s) believed in the concept of directed evolution.

I'm sure the artist never thought about that, if he did, he threw away the concept quickly. We are used to what is in front of us!

Picture yourself with no belly button. Weird, eh?

That is a very good question. It could be that the artists didn't really know the Bible or the they thought being true to anatomy was more important the than Biblical accuracy.
