My female had a litter of pups. She was due for her vaccinations, heartworm medications & flea/tick medications but I was told by my vet not to administer any of these items to her until after she was done nursing. Advantage gets into the system through the skin so whatever is in the mother is going to get into the pups. Consult your Vet immediantly.

My dachshund just had pups herself my vet would not let me put flee tick stuff on her till she was done nursing. But once they got old enough not to nurse and still wanted to she told me to go ahead and give her the flee stuff and they might not like what her milk tasted like and stop nursing. So I don;t think it will hurt them. I just hope they can take the taste

It probably is fine. Don't let the puppies lick the area where it was applied and it should be OK. Better, because no fleas. Advantage is very safe.

I asked my vet if it was okay to put Frontline on a nursing mother and they saidit would be fine as long as the pups didn't get in it and get it on them.

I think the smartest thing to do is to call your vet he will certainly have an answer for you and possibly tell you what to do if needed . Your dog and puuppies will love you for this.
