Swimming in the pool is fine, wear the tampon. Make sure you keep the string hidden from embracing you. You will not produce enough blood to harm anyone, the chemicals will disinfect any leakage. Also remember not to take and use a white towel, use a darker colored one to help conceal and leakage when drying off.
Special Note: when scuba diving if a lady is on her period sharks will not be drawn to them. Blood expelled is dead not what sharks sense,

Hey! I would advice that you don't go into the pool at all. That would be not nice of you to do. Remember that other people will be using the pool too. Just try some hygiene.

I don't know. But my sister have the same problem. We are headed to Chicago this weekend and she wants to know too. In this book that I read it says that it is okay as long as you have a tampon but my sister is too young for that right now. So you can purchase a box of tampax and try and see if it works.
